Uh-oh: Carolina Hurricanes leave Alex Ovechkin open while shorthanded

The Carolina Hurricanes apparently don't know what happens when you leave Alex Ovechkin open while the Capitals are on the Powerplay, Lesson learned.

We all know how lethal Alex Ovechkin can be when he's not covered. Stay away from the game, waiting on that beautiful pass to score a one-timer or to receive a pass and charge for the net. Well, that's what happened tonight during Game 1 between the Caps and the Canes.

The video doesn't show it, but before Ovechkin scores, he received two passes and he one-timed them. Luckily for Carolina, netminder Petr Mrazek was there to make the save.
