Blockbuster Trade Rumor: Pittsburgh Penguins and Minnesota Wild talking big names
According to The Athletic's Michael Russo, the Minnesota Wild and the Pittsburgh Penguins are discussing some big names for upcoming trade talks. And yes, Phil Kessel is part of the talks.
According to Russo, the Wild want to acquire Kessel before anyone else can get their hands on him and are willing to give up some core players to get him. Russo has mentioned that Jason Zucker, Jared Spurgeon and Joel Eriksson-Ek are part of the talks.
Russo added that defenceman Jack Johnson would be also part of the equation if Wild GM Paul Fenton wants to get rid of Victor Rask's horrendous contract. Rask still has 3-years on his latest contract at $4 million a year. Patric Hornqvist has also been briefly mentioned.
We should see the Wild and the Penguins closing a deal sometime soon. What are your thoughts on the potential trade?
