NHL Trade Rumor: Phil Kessel to Arizona Coyotes
Rumors continue to swirl around Phil Kessel once again and the prime trade destination is once again Arizona.
According to TSN’s Frank Seravalli, the Penguins are highly seeking to trade the 31-year old Kessel and Arizona are apparently takers. Seravalli continued by stating that both Evgeni Malkin and Kessel aren’t seeing eye-to-eye. He also added that head coach Mike Sullivan is growing tired of Kessel’s antics (though he didn’t state which ones.)
Potential targets Pittsburgh is looking at are 28-year old Richard Panik, who just finished his 2-year, $5.6 million contract. The other target is 22-year old Christian Fischer. Fischer still has a year left on his entry level contract. The final target is Arizona’s 14th overall pick in this year’s draft.
It was revealed last month that the Pittsburgh Penguins want a new look next season, and will be willing to trade franchise players to get that “new look.”
Could we see Kessel in the desert next campaign?
