Report: Dougie Hamilton Performance Hampered by Injury

Dougie Hamilton struggled during the regular season failing to make it to 40 points for the first time in 4 years. He was criticized in the playoffs for the Canes lack of production against the Bruins and the Game 5 loss against the Capitals where he appeared to give up on the puck against Alexander Ovechkin.

According to a tweet from Michael Smith, a senior web producer and writer for the Canes, Hamilton has been playing with a broken finger since November:

Dougie Hamilton took a puck off his right pinkie finger on Nov. 3 in Vegas, breaking the bone in two at the tip.
