Report: Edmonton Oilers closing in on hiring Dave Tippett as their new coach
The hiring process for Ken Holland started with 15 names and according to Bob McKenzie of TSN, Dave Tippett is the only name left on the list.
Bobby Mac mentions over the next 48 hours the deal could be announced as Tippett will be in charge to lead McDavid and company back to the promise land. Tippett most recently served as the bench boss for the Arizona Coyotes and has spent time behind the bench for the Kings and Stars.
The former coach of the year will have his hands full trying to construct lines from the Oilers current roster. Look for GM Ken Holland to be very busy this offseason to try and find Coach Tippett some players who can light the lamp.
Does this move make sense for the Oilers?
