SNL Comedian and Emmy Award Winner, Kenan Thompson to host the 2019 NHL Awards

The 2019 NHL Awards are presented by Bridgestone and this year's host will be SNL funny man, Kenan Thompson. The comedian who gave us the Knuckle Puck in the smash hit D2: Mighty Ducks before making his way to Saturday Night Live is the perfect selection as host.

Thompson is hilarious, he's talented and he's a hockey nut. The awards will take place on June 19th, from Las Vegas beginning at 8pm eastern time. Thompson had this to say about being named host: 

My first movie role was in D2: The Mighty Ducks, so my connection to hockey dates back to my childhood. I have a great deal of admiration for hockey players and the NHL, so I'm excited to be a part of the 2019 NHL Awards show and its celebration of the year's best performances.
