Dallas has surprisingly bought out a one-time 1st round pick
Valeri Nichushkin has been bought out by the Dallas Stars, according to Andy Strickland of Fox Sports.
The 24-year-old has never been the same since hip surgery, and the Stars are moving on from his contract, which originally was a 2 year deal at $5.9 million. The Russian winger was picked 10th overall in 2013, and only managed 10 assists last season in 57 games, in his second stint with the Stars.
The believe is the Stars want to use this extra money to try and sign Joe Pavelski or Jake Gardiner.
