NHL Trade: Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals swap defencemen

According to AHL insider Tony Androckitis, the Philadelphia Flyers have sent defenceman Radko Gudas to the Washington Capitals in exchange for defenceman Matt Niskanen.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman added that the Philadelphia Flyers will retain 30% of Gudas' contract. Earlier, it was stated that Washington was looking to acquire Shayne Ghostisbehere from Philadelphia for Niskanen, but the Flyers countered with Gudas.
