NHL Trade Rumor: Maple Leafs trade Nazem Kadri to Winnipeg for Jacob Trouba

With the rumors flying around over the weekend that Patrick Laine wants out, it's no secret their restricted free agent d-man, Jacob Trouba doesn't want to return to Winnipeg, and it appears the Toronto Maple Leafs are ready and willing with open arms.

According to sources close with the Maple Leafs, the management team has reached out to Winnipeg about Trouba's name and what exactly they would want in return. Nazem Kadri is a player Paul Maurice admires, considering how far his game has come on both sides of the puck. The fact he's under contract on a very team friendly deal, never hurts either.

The Maple Leafs will look considerably different come day one of next season, with the likes of Zaitsev and Marleau expected to change uniforms in the coming days/weeks. Is Nazem Kadri next?
