According to Pittsburgh Hockey Now, the Pittsburgh Penguins have offered defenceman Kris Letang to the Montreal Canadiens and talks are reportedly going well.

With Letang's contract, he has to submit an 18-team list that he would accept a trade to, and the Montreal Canadiens are a part of that list.

According to PHN, the Canadiens are actively searching for an offensive defenceman, but PHN cites that a deal is not 100% imminent, but 90%.
