NHL Trade Rumors: Shayne Gostisbehere for Paul Byron, Andrew Shaw
The Montreal Canadiens are interested in trading for left-handed defenseman, Shayne Gostisbehere. The Philadelphia Flyers are looking to add forwards in return. According to Anthony DiMarco, a reporter for The Fourth Period, Andrew Shaw and Paul Byron have been offered by the Canadiens.
During the 2018-19 season, Gostisbehere tallied 9 goals and 37 points in 78 games, the lowest he's tallied in a full season. Gostisbehere has four years remaining on his contract with a $4.5 million annual cap hit. Byron tallied 15 goals and 31 points in 56 games.
Byron has four years left on his contract with a $3.4 million annual cap hit. Shaw tallied 19 goals and 47 points in 63 games, setting career highs in both. Shaw has three years remaining on his contract with a $3.9 million annual cap hit.
Both teams missed the playoffs and are looking to shakeup their rosters. Another piece would need to be involved for this trade to materialize between the Canadiens and Flyers.
