Report: Alex Edler is done in Vancouver
Long time player Alexander Edler will not re-sign with the organization and will hit the free agency, according to Vancouver Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal.
According to Dhaliwal, the Canucks have made multiple offers to Edler, and have been turned down every time. Edler was seeking to sign a long-term contract with the organization so he could finish his career with the Orcas, but has reportedly added some terms that the Canucks don't feel safe with due to young players needing contracts.
Edler was drafted 91st overall by the Canucks in 2004, and has played 814 games with the franchise and scored a whopping 94 goals along with 274 assists for 368 points. Edler is seen as one of the best defencemen in franchise history.
