Report: Dion Phaneuf won't play another game for the Kings
The news keeps coming as another west coast team is ready and willing to walk away from an expensive asset, as the LA Kings have made it known to Dion Phaneuf, he's done with the club.
Pierre LeBrun reported in The Athletic that Kings GM, Rob Blake is willing to buy out Phaneuf should they not be able to facilitate a trade for the veteran defenseman. Dion has two years remaining on his contract, paying him $5.25 million per season. His deal includes a 12-team trade list.
It's expected that Phaneuf would welcome a trade to the Canucks, Oilers or Flames. Last season was rock bottom for Phaneuf as his 6 points, minus-21 rating and 15 minutes of ice time a night were all career lows.
