BREAKING: KHL bans referees and linesmen from using social media websites
The KHL shocked the hockey world on Wednesday, when it announced that referees and linesmen are banned from using social media websites, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to Alexei Anisimov, the head of the league's referee department.

The logic behind banning social media sites is unknown at this point. One possible explanation is that this may help officials to stay objective.
