Maple Leafs and Senators make their trade official
The trade is official between the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs, as the teams have swapped 6 players.
Once the Leafs paid Zaitsev his $3 million signing bonus, the Senators were on board to acquire the Russian defenseman. The deal looks like so:
Maple Leafs receive RHD Cody Ceci, 6'6 D-man Ben Harpur, and minor leaguer Aaron Luchuk and a 3rd round pick in 2020, originally owned by the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Senators receive Zaitsev, forward Connor Brown and RFA Michael Carcone.
Huge deal for the division rivals, who comes out the winner?
