Maple Leafs sign Jason Spezza to a one-year deal
According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Toronto Maple Leafs have wasted no time on July 1st, signing cheap home town talent, as the Leafs have signed centre Jason Spezza.
Spezza knows the Leafs well, growing up a fan and playing for the Senators for over a decade. Spezza is 36 years old, and best years are behind him, however, the Leafs feel he can excel with PP2 minutes and improve off his 27 points from last season.
Look for Spezza to become the team's 4th line centre, or perhaps, move up to 3rd line should Nazem Kadri be shipped out of town.
Good signing for the Leafs?
