Nazem Kadri refused the initial trade from the Maple Leafs

According to sources, the Toronto Maple Leafs had a trade in place to send Nazem Kadri to the Calgary Flames, prior to agreeing to a deal with the Colorado Avalanche, and Kadri kyboshed the deal.

The main pieces in the deal would have been defenseman TJ Brodie and a prospect going back the other way, while Kadri would have found himself on the west coast of Canada. Kadri submitted his 10 team no trade list on June 30th, and Calgary was on his list, however, this didn't stop GM, Kyle Dubas from working out a deal to see if they could convince Kadri to agree.
