Report: Mike Smith is heading to the Oilers

According to TSN's Frank Seravalli, Mike Smith is heading to the Flames' provincial rivals, as the goalie is expected to sign with the Edmonton Oilers.

No word yet on the parameters of the deal, however, early speculation suggests a one or two-year deal at around $3 million AAV. Smith is 37, and made roughly $5.6 million last season with the Flames. Smith finished the year with a 2.73 gaa and a .898 save %, numbers that don't jump out at you.

Smith will be reunited with head coach Dave Tippett, from his days in Dallas and Smith will look to bring some stability in the crease for McDavid and the Oilers.
