NHL Trade Rumor: Jets moving Patrik Laine to Carolina for Andrei Svechnikov
It appears Finnish sniper, Patrik Laine has run out of favor in Winnipeg and the team is ready and willing to move on from his services. According to sources, the Jets have held discussions with multiple teams, including serious talks with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Jets are willing to give up on Laine and his antics, if it means the team can get back another young stud in return, and have Andrei Svechnikov circled in Carolina. The Jets who have serious ties to the OHL's Barrie Colts, have had their eye on the Russian winger for years and would love him to come in and compliment their group.

In order for this deal to work financially, someone else off of Carolina would need to go the other way. The rumored deal would be centred around the two young stars, however, with names like Jacob Slavin and Brett Pesce being mentioned as well, with Winnipeg being willing to package picks and prospects.
It is believed the leadership group in Winnipeg has lost faith in Laine's work ethic and think they may be better off without him.
No word yet on where Laine prefers to play, but it is believed as long as there's wifi, he's happy.
