Rumor: Rasmus Ristolainen demands trade out of Buffalo

In a recent interview, Buffalo Sabres' defenseman, Rasmus Ristolainen, implies that he's asked for a trade. A Buffalo News report quotes comments from Ristolainen from an interview with MTV Uutiset.

I cannot say anything other than the fact that on the 12th of September, I will be at one of the NHL team’s training camps.

The 24-year-old finished the season with an NHL-worst rating of minus-41. Ristolainen tallied 5 goals and 38 assists last season, but struggles with the defensive side of the game. He has three years remaining on a $5.4 million cap hit contract.
