Report: Leafs' Mitch Marner in talks with Zurich Lions of Swiss Elite League

Mitch Marner's agent Darren Ferris is setting his client up for success. The Maple Leafs RFA is currently in discussions with the Zurich Lions of the SEL.

Should Marner's camp not be able to agree to a new deal with the Maple Leafs before the start of the season, Marner sees Zurich as an option to train with professionals and stay fresh.

If Zurich sounds familiar, it's because Zurich was home to Auston Matthews during his draft year. The connection continues as the believe is Marner continues to demand Auston Matthews type of money on his new deal. Roughly $11.6 million would make Marner one of the highest paid wingers in the game, as the Toronto native finished the season with 94 points and had lead the Leafs in scoring the past 2 seasons.
