Auston Matthews fires back at Brian Burke for his comments

It appears Brian Burke was bored in August and didn't have much to talk about when it came to the world of hockey. So, Burke decided to fuel the fire that Auston Matthews will leave for Arizona once his new 5 year deal with the Maple Leafs is up.

Auston Matthews isn't happy about it, but he's not surprised someone like Brian Burke would say that.

We haven't even started my first year and then this? I think it's just August, there was nothing going on, why not spark up a controversy. How better to do that than to talk about the Toronto Maple Leafs. It's a little disappointing because it's so far away and there is other stuff that could be talked about rather than that. Obviously you can talk about what you want to talk about. Obviously it creates controversy and will get you a lot of clicks. But it's not really something that bothers me or that I look at because I'm just looking at today and this season and doing the best I can. I love playing in Toronto. It's unbelievable. It's the best city to play in the NHL. Our fans are amazing.

Brian Burke has yet to make any comments related to the Matthews quote above, but if we know Burkie like we think we do, it won't be long before he defends himself.
