Dustin Byfuglien suspended by the Winnipeg Jets
The Winnipeg Jets have suspended defenceman, Dustin Byfuglien for failing to report to training camp and the decision comes at no surprise.
The team finalized the paperwork on Saturday and it can be reversed at any time. Certainly a move most saw coming as it saves the Jets money for everyday Byfuglien stays away from the team.
The Jets await while Byfuglien contemplates his playing future. The rugged big man has two years left on his deal, paying him $7.6 million dollars per. The news from Byfuglien blindsided the Jets as they moved on from right handed defensemen, Jacob Trouba and Tyler Myers. Losing Byfuglien to retirement would leave a gaping hole on the right side of Winnipeg's defense, however, it would allow for the team to re-sign both Kyle Connor and Patrik Laine.
The team waits, while Byfuglien ponders. To be continued...
