Ottawa Senators owner being sued by US Casino for 'dishonored bank drafts'
The Ottawa Senators have struggled on the ice for a few years now and it appears the struggle off the ice continues as well. Their owner Eugene Melnyk is being sued by a US Casino for 'dishonored bank drafts'.
The CBC is reporting Melnyk gave 5 dishonored bank drafts one weekend back in 2017. The casino in Connecticut is suing for more than $900,000 as they have never received their money owed from Melnyk's gambling losses.
The lawsuit is filed by Mohegan Sun casino Uncasville, Conn., roughly halfway between Boston and New York city, on July 9th of this year.
The casino management wants their money back plus $15,000 in damages, costs and interest, which doesn't appear to be all that harsh of a penalty.
No comment has been made yet, from Melnyk or his lawyers.
