Report: Cole Caufield Sets NCAA Franchise Record
The University of Wisconsin Badgers have played only two games so far, but newcomer Cole Caufield is already ripping up the record books.
The 18-year old college rookie has become the first member of the Wisconsin Badgers in the modern era to score multiple goals in each of his first two games.
The Wisconsin native scored 72 goals and 100 points in 64 games last year with the USNTDP while playing alongside Jack Hughes, before falling into the hands of the Montreal Canadiens, with the 15th overall selection.
Caufield has also been an important factor in Wisconsin's power-play, an issue that has plagued Montreal for years. If he continues to perform like this, the Canadiens will be very impatient with the young scoring machine.
Caufield recently told the media that he hopes to have an entry to the NHL similar to Cale Makar, who jumped into the Avalanche lineup at the start of their playoff run, and played quite well.
