Report: Dmitry Kulikov Granted Leave of Absence By Winnipeg Jets
Just when you though the Jets defence couldn't get any worse, the Jets lose another defender indefinitely.
It was reported yesterday that the Winnipeg Jets have granted Dmitry Kulikov a leave of absence as he tends to a "personal matter," leaving him out indefinitely.
This news comes alongside Josh Morrissey being held out of the lineup after sustaining an injury during warm-up against the New York Islanders (Paul Maurice has said Morrissey is "day-to-day"), as well as the ongoing issue of Dustin Byfuglien contemplating his future in the NHL, with possible retirement looming.
For those keeping track, Kulikov is the sixth defender from last season who is now out of the Jets lineup. With Myers and Chiarot lost to free agency, and Trouba traded away, the Jets now have a defensive core that looks nothing like the one we saw last year.
