BREAKING: Controversial HNIC host Don Cherry has been fired

Sportsnet has fired legendary host Don Cherry for his remarks towards immigrants not wearing poppy’s in Canada for Remembrance Day.

You people, you love our way of life, you love our milk and honey, Cherry stated during Coach’s Corner segment. At least pay a couple bucks for a poppy of something like that. These guys paid for your way of life that you enjoy in Canada, these guys paid the biggest price.

That is the quote that got Cherry in trouble on November 9th. Some view it as racist and discriminatory towards immigrants and Cherry was criticized for it.

Brian Burke and Sportsnet have been in talks for at least a year regarding a spot within the organization and may be Cherry’s replacement.
