Costly Move: New Jersey Devils waive goalie, Cory Schneider
The New Jersey Devils are making changes in their crease, in hopes of sparking their club, as the team announced Cory Schneider has been waived today, for the purpose of assignment to Binghamton (AHL).
Schneider is due to make $6,000,000 until 2022.
The counter move for New Jersey was, they have called up goalie, Louis Domingue. In four games with Binghamton, Domingue went 2-1-1 with a 2.25 GAA and a .918 save%. Domingue was acquired recently from the Tampa Bay Lightning, after he won over 20 games last season and couldn't make his NHL team the year after.
If this goaltending move does not work out for the Devils, look for the team to make some major changes to their roster, including trading Taylor Hall and potentially a few others.
