Maple Leafs head coach, Mike Babcock is on very thin ice
Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet mentioned Saturday night on the Hockey Night in Canada telecast, 'all bets are off' on Mike Babcock's future with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Leafs continue to struggle with the team on its way to a fifth straight loss.
Babcock continues to be set in his ways with his coaching style and the results have been worrisome for Leafs Nation. A lot of the focus so far this season has been on Babcock's use of Jason Spezza, along with his goaltending strategy, and use of his top lines. The speciality teams of the Leafs has also been a disappointment on both sides of the puck. The team is out of the top 10 on the Powerplay for the first time in a long time and with the injuries currently throughout the lineup, it doesn't appear the outcomes are going to change anytime soon.
Hence the possibility of a coaching change. Appears it may be the only move Kyle Dubas has left up his sleeve, after he was doubted when it came to signing the Maple Leafs core. If it's not Babcock, look for Dubas to have a couple of names in play. More to come...
