Rumor: Maple Leafs receive multiple calls regarding Tyson Barrie
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Toronto Maple Leafs have received multiple calls regarding defenceman Tyson Barrie's availability.
Before he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Montreal Canadiens, the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Buffalo Sabres all demonstrated high interest in acquiring Barrie from the Colorado Avalanche.
Barried was traded to Toronto on July 1st along with Alexander Kerfoot, who is now out indefinitely, for Nazem Kadri. The Avalanche is also retaining half of Barrie's $5.5 million cap.
Do you think the Toronto Maple Leafs should trade Barrie, or will Barrie eventually find his game?
He [Barrie] has not asked for a trade, however, I think there is an understanding that so far it hasn't worked [with Toronto], Friedman stated on Hockey Night in Canada's "Headlines" segment.Friedman believes that Toronto has rejected the thought of trading the 28-year old defenceman.
