NHLTR: Bruins and Sabres enter the Saad sweepstakes with offers
According to Jimmy Murphy of the Boston Hockey Now, the Boston Bruins and the Buffalo Sabres have entered the race to acquire Brandon Saad from the Chicago Blackhawks.
It is known that the Chicago Blackhawks are seeking a blue liner for the roster after losing Brent Seabrook and Calvin de Haan for the rest of the season.
So far, the Sabres have Rasmus Ristolainen, Zach Bogosian and Marco Scandella available for trade. The Bruins have less defencemen they are willing to trade, but would be willing to trade a salaried player to acquire Saad from the Hawks.
Boston has a little under $1 million available in salary cap, so they would have no other choice but to trade a salary cap since Chicago doesn't want to retain any amount on Saad's contract.
Saad is still signed at $6M per season for this season and next, who do you think should trade for Saad's rights?
