NHLTR: Maple Leafs and Devils discussing a loaded trade

The New Jersey Devils are looking to sell off all their assets for future considerations after this season turned out to be dismal. With Taylor Hall gone, the attention turns to Wayne Simmonds, Sami Vatanen and PK Subban, and according to sources connected to the Maple Leafs, the team has contacted the Devils about Simmonds and Vatanen.

The deal is centered around the Leafs receiving Wayne Simmonds and RHD Sami Vatanen, who are both in the final year of their contract. In order for the money to work, the Leafs would include RHD Cody Ceci and speedy winger, Kasperi Kapenen in the deal, along with a mid-level prospect.

The Devils originally asked for Rasmus Sandin or Timothy Liljegren, however, the Leafs were a 'hard no' on moving either player for rentals.

Some feel the Leafs will try and get the Devils to include back up goalie, Louis Domingue in the deal, to shore up their need in the crease.

As for PK Subban, we continue to hear his name out there and will bring the details to you as they continue to pour in.

The Leafs are in need of some toughness and hometown kid, Wayne Simmonds fits the bill perfectly. Leafs Nation is hoping Kyle Dubas doesn't shy away from the trigger as we creep closer to the deadline.
