NHLTR: Oilers contact Chicago regarding Brandon Saad
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Chicago Blackhawks have placed Brandon Saad on the trade block and he's already generating some interest although he is injured at the moment.
Friedman stated that the Blackhawks are now looking for some defencemen since both Brent Seabrook and Calvin de Haan are both done for the season. With that in mind, the Blackhawks could be targeting Adam Larsson.
Saad is signed for this season and next at $6 million, and Larsson has the same length at $4.167M a year.
Who do you think should add more to the potential trade? Or is it an okay 1-for-1?
The Blackhawks announced Brandon Saad was out for about 3 weeks yesterday but I think there is some interest there and quite possibly when he's healthy, I think there are going to be some teams taking a look at him even though he's got one-year remaining on his deal, Friedman stated. As he appeared on Oilers Now with Bob Stauffer on Friday, Friedman believes the Edmonton Oilers are very interested in acquiring Saad from the Blackhawks.
