Video: AHL Player ejected for disgusting headbutt
Friday night in the AHL was a sight for sore eyes, as Grand Rapid Griffins' forward Jarid Lukosevicius threw a nasty headbutt at Iowa Wild forward Gerald Mayhew.
Lukosevicius appropriately was ejected after receiving a match and major penalty on the play. The AHL will definitely take a look at the play to determine how many games of suspension are coming his way as well.
Lukosevicius has played 16 games for the Griffins this year, tallying four goals and one assist.
With plays like this, he's going to need to do more to stay in the league. There is no room for decisions like this in hockey.
