NHLTR: Maple Leafs and Sharks working on big trade

The Toronto Maple Leafs are rolling, with an 8-1-1 record in their past 10 games, but GM, Kyle Dubas isn't satisfied with standing pat. The team continues to work the phones, looking to upgrade their defence, and it appears they may have found the perfect match.

According to a source connected with the Leafs, the team has been in contact with the San Jose Sharks regarding defenseman, Brenden Dillon.

Dillon is a UFA at season's end, and currently sits with 10 points in 42 games, and more importantly, would bring a physical aspect to the team, they so desperately lack.

Dillon's resume includes 62 playoff games, and a willingness to muck it up. Dillon is top-10 in the league in hits, and last season finished the year with over 200.

Believe is the Leafs are willing to move Cody Ceci and Dmytro Timashov in this deal, as they want to hold on to Jeremy Bracco for potentially a bigger deal, than just a rental/physical defenseman.

The Leafs have turned around their season with the arrival of Sheldon Keefe. Look for the Buds to add a couple more pieces as they try to exercise their playoff demons.
