Penguins Player Ruled Out Because of Lost Passport
You're not going to believe this. The Pittsburgh Penguins are set to play at the Bell Centre tonight against the Montreal Canadiens. However, one of their players will not be in the lineup as they have lost their passport and are unable to cross the border into Canada.
Goaltender Casey Desmith was expected to join the Penguins in tonight's game against the Canadiens as a call up from the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins. The Penguins have instead called up goaltender Emil Larmi from their ECHL affiliate, Wheeling Nailers. Larmi has only played 5 career games at the AHL level and was recalled because of unforeseen circumstances. It seems that Larmi has been called up to the NHL under similar regards, but it will be a great experience for him nonetheless.
