Rumor: Ducks and Leafs working on Josh Manson trade

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been contacting numerous teams for weeks trying to work out the parameters of several different deals, all related to a right-handed defenseman. According to Darren Dreger from TSN, the Leafs could have shifted their focus from Matt Dumba of the Wild to Josh Manson of the Ducks.

Rumor has it, the Ducks aren't terribly interested in moving Manson, unless the deal blows their socks off. The Leafs will have to send more than just forward Kasperi Kapanen to facilitate the deal, so look for names such as prospects, Mac Hollowell or Jeremy Bracco to be added to any deal between these two clubs.

Manson submits a list of 12 teams to the Ducks for which he can't be traded too, and no word yet on if the Maple Leafs are on the list. Josh's father, Dave, played for the Leafs, so perhaps that gives them an inside track to stay off the list.

These two teams continue to talk trade as Manson's name is the latest to be tied to the Maple Leafs thanks to hockey's biggest insider. Manson is a perfect long-term solution for the back end of Toronto, so keep an eye on the Ducks and Leafs as we creep closer to the trade deadline.
