Rumor: PK Subban to Tampa Bay Lightning

As we reported on December 19th, 2019, PK Subban is on the trading block once again. New Jersey Devils' GM, Ray Shero, traded for Subban in an offseason transaction with the Nashville Predators. Despite having played only 39 games with the Devils' organization, it is clear that he is not well liked in the dressing room. There are new developments on a trade destination since his demand has been announced.

Despite his philanthropy and charitable donations, Subban's personality has not been well received in any of the organizations that he has been a part of. In layman's terms, the Devils are fed up with him, both on and off the ice. He has scored just 3 goals and 5 assists for a total of 8 points. This is simply unacceptable for a defenseman earning $9 million per year. Moreover, PK has an eccentric and flamboyant personality that is seen as both a distraction and a division in the dressing room.
"Subban carries a hefty salary and has a reputation for self-promotion that can be distracting to an organization." - Jim Parsons of "The Hockey Writers"
PK is reported to be linked to a significant deal that would send him to the Tampa Bay Lightning, as per many sources surrounding the organization. If his on-ice play begins to reflect seasons past, the Lightning will certainly move into a position of playoff contention. However, this will be the 4th team PK has played for in the last 6 seasons. He must be willing to alter his off-ice antics if he wishes to remain with one team for the final duration of his career.
