Done Deal: Bruins and Ducks make major trade
The Boston Bruins are all over the trade rumors these days. On Friday, they completed a deal with the Anaheim Ducks, shortly after it was rumored that David Backes will be heading to the west coast.
Assuming this gets finalized as expected, David Backes will be a piece of the package going back to ANA for Kase. https://t.co/dTG6XBRBPe— Bob McKenzie (@TSNBobMcKenzie) February 21, 2020
First round pick, David Backes and a prospect to Anaheim https://t.co/eIyKASGurk— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) February 21, 2020
Prospect going to Anaheim is Axel Andersson https://t.co/Vjna7hsTUv— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) February 21, 2020
Also important to note: the Bruins are retaining 25 percent of Backes’ remaining contract. So the Ducks are only on the hook for about $3 M in real dollars next season on that contract.
