Done Deal: Winnipeg acquires defenseman from Ottawa
The Winnipeg Jets are beginning to fill some holes as the team has announced they have acquired Dylan DeMelo from the Ottawa Senators.
The Jets sent the Sens a 3rd round pick in 2020 in exchanged for the defenseman. The 26-year-old DeMelo has 10 points in 49 games this season and will give the Jets some much needed depth on the right-side of their back end.
DeMelo was acquired from the Sharks to the Sens in the Erik Karlsson deal and was in the infamous cab video with Matt Duchene and others.
The Sens now have two 1st rounders, three 2nd rounders and two 3rd rounders in 2020. Perhaps laying a small wager on the Sens to win the cup in 2025 would be a smart idea?
