NHLTR: Bruins trading David Backes to Western Conference

The Boston Bruins are trying to shed some salary for next season while making a move for this season's playoff run. David Backes was 'sent down' a few weeks ago, and it appears the team has been working the phones to try and find the veteran a new home.

Backes is due $4.925 million next season and at 35 years old and not getting any quicker, the market has been slim for Backes' services.  He's scored only 1 goal in 16 NHL games this season.

Lots of chatter surrounding the move, as we expect Backes to be changing teams this weekend.
