Rumor: Avs and Habs continue to discuss blockbuster
The Colorado Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens made headlines this week when Habs GM, Marc Bergevin spent several days in Colorado. We provided you details earlier this week when it happened and it appears these discussion aren't going away.
Colorado is willing to part with a mega package to get the deal done, but it appears the Habs management team is trying to decide if this is the right move at the right time. The media backlash in Montreal will be massive regardless of what the return will be for Montreal.
Phillip Grubauer, Tyson Jost, Samuel Girard and draft picks is what the deal is believed to be centered around, but even with this massive return, selling it to Habs fans will be tough.
Some have chimed in on the fun:

Seeing Marc Bergevin is in Denver got me thinking about potential MTL / COL trade ideas. This would be a biggie but— Mike Kelly (@MikeKellyNHL) February 17, 2020
the more I think about it, the more I can see a Carey Price to Colorado trade making a lot of sense. Obviously, Price has no move & would have to sign off but...
#habs will trade Carey Price, but this comment on dubas is priceless 😂 price-less get it hahahaha pic.twitter.com/LMcMZCwK2r— Stonedanime (@Stonedanime1) February 22, 2020
Carey Price domination last night demonstrated that he is still among the best goalies in the NHL.— Canadian Ron Burgundy (@Habs_Burgundy) February 23, 2020
NOW is the time to trade Carey Price, while he has value. Habs WILL NOT make the playoffs.
Will Bumbling Bergevin drop the ball again? #gohabsgo
