Rumor: Blackhawks and Hurricanes working on trade

Blackhawks defenseman Erik Gustafsson sat out Friday night's game for the Blackhawks as the team continues to work the phones to facilitate a deal. The Carolina Hurricanes are rumored to be the favorites to land the offensive defenseman.

Gustafsson is enjoying himself a fine season with 26 points in 59 games for a Blackhawks team that was inconsistent the entire season. The believe is the Hawks have asked for a 2nd round pick, a conditional pick and highly touted prospect in return.
