Rumor: Devils and Columbus talking big trade
The Columbus Blue Jackets are battling it out for playoff positioning in the eastern conference and have been in contact with several teams this week, trying to find some defensive depth. They may have found their match.
The Blue Jackets are rumored to be chatting with the New Jersey Devils about what it will take to acquire PK Subban and how much of his $9 million the Devils are willing to retain.
CBJ is believed to be willing to part with an NHL defenseman (Andrew Peeke) and a mid-level prospect for Subban. The Jackets don't own their next two 2nd-round picks, so it appears any pick would be 3rd round or later in the deal.
PK has struggled in Jersey, and there's even been some chatter about personalities clashing in the room.
Keep an eye on the Devils as they have many sticks in the fire, trying to rebuild around the likes of Blackwood, Hischier and Hughes.
