Rumor: Edmonton and Detroit talking interesting trade

Oilers GM, Ken Holland is familiar with most if not all of the Detroit Red Wings roster, and it appears he may be leaning on this knowledge to make a deadline deal for his new club in Edmonton.

According to Elliotte Friedman, the Oilers have interest in bringing in Mike Green for their playoff run. The veteran RHD is a pending UFA at season's end and his -32 doesn't scare away teams as Detroit has been terrible.

Green can still move his feet and make the first pass and has a lot of offense left in him. Green has managed 11 points this season, however, with a change of scenery there's a chance he surpasses 11 points down the stretch.

The rental market for defenseman has been a busy one, so expect a return to fit in to this list somewhere:
