Rumor: Sharks' Thornton has 5-team trade list revealed

According to Colorado Avalanche insider Adrian Dater, there are only five organizations the pending free agent would accept to be traded to. And they are quite the contenders to win the Stanley Cup this post-season.

According to Dater, the franchises that Thornton would like to be traded to are the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Colorado Avalanche, the Dallas Stars, the Tampa Bay Lightning and intriguingly his former team, the Boston Bruins.

Based on Dater's source, they are the only organizations who have their foot in the door to acquiring the forward.

Thornton is a pending free agent and has a $2 million price tag. His production is currently spiralling down like the Sharks' season. He currently has 2 goals, 23 assists, 25 points in 60 games. Last season, he boasted a 16 goal, 35 assist for 51 points in 73 games.
