Drew Doughty sends media into frenzy with comments about cancelling season

Drew Doughty was simply asked a question and responded, and for some, that wasn't good enough. The LA Kings star met with the media over a conference call on Monday, and he was open and as honest as ever. Typical 'Dewy' some would say, and there's nothing wrong with that. Unless you're Ken Campbell of The Hockey News.

Doughty had this to say when asked about the current NHL season:

From Drew Doughty: "I don't see how this season is going to return."

He also doesn't think much of the idea of hockey being played in August. "I think it would be tough to do that. It would affect next season."

Legitimate question. Why do people care whether Drew Doughty thinks there will be hockey this season? For that matter, who cares what Craig Berube or Don Fehr or Gary Bettman think? It's not going to be their call and nobody has any idea at the moment.
