Gary Bettman reveals details about 'Summer Hockey'

The Commissioner of the NHL has been a busy man. From countless phone calls including one with President Trump, to mulling over option after option on a white board, these may be some of the busiest times ever for Gary Bettman. The work is far from complete and today Bettman revealed some details regarding an option to resume the hockey season.

While the details were slightly vague, Bettman did tell NBCSN the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics have helped the NHL's chances of playing hockey in the summer time.
I think right now, there's too much uncertainty. Hopefully we'll all know more by the end of April. We're all going to have to wait until we have a lot more information, maybe in the next few weeks. I do believe we can play into the summer, well into the summer. And on the NBC platform, the fact the Olympics have been postponed gives us a broader window to focus on when and how we can play.
Nothing has been ruled in, and nothing has been ruled out. A good sign for anyone who loves hockey.
