Video: Gary Bettman speaks about the NHL's comeback
Earlier today we reported the NHL has July circled as their ideal timeline for returning to regular season play. Although the format will look much different, regardless, the league is creeping closer to pulling the trigger on the much needed logistics required for their new 'normal'. Commissioner, Gary Bettman spoke with Ron MacLean of Sportsnet on Wednesday night and the conversation has hockey fans around the world very excited.
As per Chris Johnston of Sportsnet, a few notes to consider:
Earlier this week, NHL GMs found out about the potential of carrying on with the draft in June, meanwhile, starting the rest of the regular season after the fact in July. With all the conditional trades and unknown draft lottery order, as expected, several GMs wanted no part of keeping the draft status quo. One things for sure, all of them want to get back to watching live hockey games.
The rest of the regular season could shape up to be the best stretch of hockey we have ever seen. 4 venues, 12 games per day, all the way to playing every other night in the playoffs.
The NHL is coming back, get your popcorn ready!
