Breaking: NHL plans to complete 82-game season before playoffs
Great news for hockey fans around the world! The NHL is making plans to complete the full 82-game season for each team.
The neutral-site idea looks like it was scrapped. Instead, the NHL is looking for four hosting cities, one city for each division. All the teams from a division would be brought to the hosting city to play one another. In this way, the divisional teams would face-off against each other, changing the previous set matchup schedule.
Three games per day might be played at each of the four hosting cities to finish the regular season in under three weeks, setting the stage for the Stanley Cup playoffs. Cities such as Edmonton, Minnesota, and Raleigh are being considered as hosts.
